In keeping with the goals of the WVUSD Strategic Arts Plan adopted in 2016, the district  is working to expand the arts curriculum at the elementary level. In 2017-18, through a grant from the Los Angeles Arts Education Collective and matched by the district, WVUSD offered a 1-week world dance program/arts integration program  to all 3rd grade students in the district in partnershp with Ahman Dance Educators. Students learned about dance while also reinforcing their social studieis and language arts curriuclum.  Because of the positive reponse from parents, teachers, and students, WVUSD decided to fully fund this program for 2018-19!

In 2018-19, through a similar grant, all WVUSD 2nd grade students will participate in a 10 week theater arts/STEM  integration program in partnership with Dramatic Results.
