Expanded Learning Opportunities Program Plan
What is the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P)?
ELO-P is an expansion of the WVUSD Child Care Program. ELO-P provides engagement through enrichment, play, nutrition, and other developmentally appropriate activities. The program is designed to support the whole child including their social and emotional learning and development. It is the intent of the Legislature that expanded learning programs are pupil-centered, results driven, include community partners, and complement, but do not replicate, learning activities in the regular school day and school year.
Who qualifies for ELO-P?
Students in TK through 6th grade that meet the following identifications are eligible for ELO-P enrollment:
- Identified by WVUSD as an approved participant of the National School Lunch Program
- Identified by WVUSD as an English Learner
- Identified by WVUSD as Homeless or Foster Youth
Program Offerings Summary:
- Structured homework supervision, enrichment activities, indoor play, outdoor recreation, an afterschool snack.
- Before and after child care at elementary school fun clubs
- After school care at middle school teen scene.
- Care on non-school days may be available. More information will be provided at a later time.
