Dear WVUSD Staff,

 

Today, Los Angeles County Department of Public Health released updated school-based temporary COVID-19 standards and measures.  To immediately implement these measures, WVUSD will be sending the attached parent communication to all WVUSD families this evening.  Additionally, I wanted to provide you with the updated WVUSD Employee Quarantine Chart and additional COVID-19 information that reflects these temporary changes. 

 

These Temporary Employee Quarantine Standards are in place until further notice. 

Close Contact is defined as:

  1.      Within 6 feet of the infected person for more than 15 cumulative minutes over a 24 hour period
  2.      Unmasked contact with the infected person regardless of time

 

WVUSD EMPLOYEE QUARANTINE CHART & COVID-19 POSITIVE INFORMATION

 

LOS ANGELES COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH (LACDPH) TEMPORARY STANDARDS EFFECTIVE JANUARY 11, 2022

Employee Status

Quarantine Period

Requirements

Fully Vaccinated, Boosted (if eligible) & Asymptomatic

None

  • Remain at work
  • Must test once between Days 4 -6 following exposure
  • Social distance (no more than 15 minutes cumulatively over 24 hour period of time) while at work for 14 days from exposure (OSHA)
  • Wear upgraded mask for 10 days following exposure (indoors and outdoors)

Fully Vaccinated,  Not Boosted & Asymptomatic

No Quarantine at Work; however you must quarantine when outside of work (LACDPH)

  • Remain at work 
  • Must test once between Days  3-5 following exposure
  • Must Quarantine for 10 days when outside of work

Not Vaccinated & Asymptomatic

End quarantine after Day 5 if no symptoms and negative diagnostic test that was collected on Day 5 or later;  Recommend testing immediately following exposure

After ending quarantine,

  • Monitor symptoms for 10 days
  • Social distance (no more than 15 minutes cumulatively over 24 hour period of time) while at work for 14 days from exposure
  • Wear upgraded mask for 10 days following exposure (indoors and outdoors)

Vaccinated or Unvaccinated & Symptomatic

·         Quarantine and test immediately; if no symptoms and negative diagnostic test on Day 5 or after, you may return to work

·         If COVID-19 positive, you must follow DPH Isolation Instructions and contact your site’s COVID Compliance Officer and/or Kina Mattoon, Risk Management

If able to return to work,

  • Monitor symptoms for 10 days
  • Social distance  (no more than 15 minutes cumulatively over 24 hour period of time) while at work for 14 days from exposure
  • Wear upgraded mask for 10 days following exposure (indoors and outdoors)

Recently recovered from COVID-19 in the last 90 days with lab-confirmed test (no home test)

NoNone

  • No Testing
  • Monitor Symptoms

CONFIRMED CASE OF COVID-19

If you have a confirmed case of COVID-19, please follow the current district procedure. Per the new public health order, the isolation period may now be reduced to a minimum of five days if you:

  • Receive a negative follow up viral (antigen) test on Day 5 or later (PCR Tests are not recommended if you initially tested positive as the test will most likely indicate you are positive).
    • In order to get an antigen test through Brea Clinic, you must be confirmed by your site as COVID-19 positive. Your site will notify Kina Mattoon, who will make arrangements with Brea Clinic for you to receive an antigen test.  Brea will not accept walk-ins for antigens requesting to be billed to WVUSD.
  • Have lessening symptoms 
  • Do not have a fever without fever-reducing medication for at least 24 hours

Vaccination Clinic for WVUSD Families and Community Members - Ages 12 and Older

 

Hello Walnut Valley Families,

We are pleased to offer a vaccination clinic opportunity for Walnut Valley families and community members.  This clinic will be held at Diamond Bar High School on Saturday,  April 23  from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

WHAT TO BRING:

  1. A copy of your proof of age (ex. Birth certificate, passport, AIRES cover page for students) – we will need to keep the copy
  2. Proof of insurance if applicable – we will need to keep a copy
  3. Minors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian

If you are able to provide us with a copy of your proof of age and insurance it will save valuable time for you and for the clinic.
