Welcome Aboard – AGAIN!

December 14, 2018

By Kelli Gile, WVUSD Office of Community Resources

Walnut Valley retired administrator Ray McMullen was sworn in as the jointly appointed Personnel Commissioner on December 13.

Ray was first hired to teach an 8thgrade class of 23 students in 1954 in the K-8 Walnut Elementary District.

He was selected as the first principal at Suzanne Middle School when it had just nine teachers.

Ray also served as a director and assistant superintendent in Human Resources.

After he retired after 40 years of service in 1995, Ray has continued his steadfast relationship with the District as a consultant, through leadership training, as co-founder of Dedicated to Learning, and as an active Kiwanis Club board member and mentor.

“We are excited and proud to have Ray back with us!” said Deputy Superintendent Dr. Matthew Witmer.
