City Honors Employees as First Responders

September 19, 2019

The Diamond Bar City Council recognized two staff members, Quail Summit Elementary custodian Mary Lou Vargas and Diamond Bar High athletic equipment attendant David Hernandez, during the September 18 meeting.

They were the first responders to rush to the aid of a resident in distress at the Grand Avenue and Diamond Bar Boulevard intersection in May.

“Their swift reaction and selfless actions to help a fellow human being during a moment of crisis was heroic and commendable,” said Mayor Ruth Low.

WVUSD is proud of Mary Lou and David for demonstrating courage and compassion!
