Walnut Valley Board Honors Gifted Young Artist
WALNUT, CA—Walnut Elementary student Michael Wu was lauded for his exceptional artistic talent by the WVUSD Board of Trustees on July 13.
The fifth grader recently garnered national attention as grand prize winner in the Missing Children’s Day poster contest sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice.
Michael, age 11, entered a drawing of a young boy hugging a teddy bear in the “Bring Our Missing Children Home” competition that aims to create awareness and promote child safety.
As national winner, Michael, his parents, and teacher Seema Bagai were awarded a trip to to Washington D.C. to be recognized during the National Missing Children’s Day ceremony on May 25.
