Informational Meeting Slated for July 7

Walnut Valley USD Seeks Community Input at Informational Meeting

Walnut Valley Unified School District has scheduled an informational meeting to share its vision for a potential school bond on Thursday, July 7.

The District is seeking community input as it considers placing a school bond on the November ballot.

Though some local schools have received repairs and updates over the years, others still require vital improvements to ensure all schools meet modern learning standards.

Outdated classrooms, science labs, instructional technology and other educational facilities need improvements to continue supporting strong student achievement.

Last November’s bond measure just fell short of the 55 percent approval required for passage.

“The need to renovate aging buildings and improve our facilities is urgent,” Superintendent Taylor said.

“At 53.42 percent approval, a strong majority supported the previous bond measure. We believe that this is the right decision for our students.”

The meeting will be hosted by Superintendent Dr. Robert Taylor and held at 6 p.m. at Ron Hockwalt Academies located at 476 S. Lemon Avenue in Walnut.
