Walnut Valley hosts Thanksgiving food drive

Walnut Valley Unified School District is making sure 30 needy local families enjoy a complete Thanksgiving dinner this week.

Donations were collected from schools and staff members for the annual food drive during the past two weeks.

Walnut Elementary hosted a classroom penny drive that netted $933.

EV Free Church of Diamond Bar donated 30 turkeys for the fundraiser. Families will also receive a gift card to purchase holiday favorites at Walmart Neighborhood Market in Diamond Bar.

A special thanks to staff members Ronda La Rosa, Suzanne Beach, Julie Charlton, and Shawn Tampio for organizing this year’s drive.
