Walnut Valley Unified Earns An “A”

WALNUT, CA—Walnut Valley Unified School District has been recognized for having the 4th highest graduation rate for African-American and Latino students in all school districts in California.

Walnut Valley also received an “A” Graduation Grade - scoring 90% and above in the report issued in The Education Trust-West California Report Card.

Every school district in the state is graded on how well they serve their Latino, African-American and low-income students.

“We are very proud to be acknowledged by The Education Trust-West.  This outstanding graduation rate is the direct result of a commitment to the success of all students in Walnut Valley,” said Superintendent Dr. Bob Taylor.

The California Department of Education (CDE) provides the report data.

The Education Trust-West is an Oakland-based statewide educational policy, research and advocacy organization that works for the high academic achievement of all students at all levels, pre-k through college. They aim to “expose opportunity and achievement gaps that separate students of color and low-income students from other youth, and [they] identify and advocate for the strategies that will forever close those gaps.”
