Walnut Valley Board Honors Super Star Students

WALNUT, CA—The Walnut Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees honored two Super Star students during the meeting held April 25.

Castle Rock Elementary 4th grade student Gabrielle Moran was recognized as the school’s Super Star.  Gabrielle has excelled in academics and personal integrity, and is also very creative.

Gabrielle is empathetic and tolerant with all of her fellow classmates, said Principal Carol Sullivan. This year she wrote and delivered a speech that gained the respect of her fellow students who elected her Castle Rock student council secretary.

“With the love and support of her great family she has earned this prestigious honor and we could not be more proud of our Castle Rock Super Star student Gabrielle Moran!” Mrs. Sullivan said.

Collegewood Elementary honored 4th grade student Jaydn Ott as the school’s 2011-12 Super Star. Principal Carolyn Wills said that in past months Jaydn has made significant improvements  – most importantly in personal and social skills. She also introduced the members of the support team that have been instrumental in Jaydn’s success.

“This gathering of ‘Team Jaydn’ really demonstrates what’s best about our District –they’ve set aside all distractions to help Jaydn succeed. He has shown tremendous improvement and done a great job!” Mrs. Wills said.

This young man is also a talented athlete and I wouldn’t be surprised if you hear about him in a Super Bowl! she said.
