Walnut School Board Honors Art Contest Winners

WALNUT, CA--The Walnut Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees recognized 37 young artists for their award winning entries in the 2011 Music K-8 Cover Contest on May 18.  The fifth grade students, representing all nine WVUSD elementary schools, had their artwork selected from over 12,000 nationwide entries.

Music Specialist Judy Brunelle introduced the students who received a Certificate of Achievement. The Top Winners, Top Finalists, and Finalists also received a color copy of their artwork that appeared in the June issue of the Music K-8 magazine.

Congratulations to the following Top Winners: Hailey Shi, Evergreen – 1st Runner-Up; Megan Lee, Quail Summit – 6th Runner-Up.

Top Finalists:  Andrew Goh, Angela Yang – Collegewood; Eric Zuo – Vejar; Renee Yam, Crystal Song, Irene Chang – Evergreen; Tiffany Wu, Christine Chan  - Quail Summit; Amanda Taing, Angelique Wong – Westhoff.

Finalists:  Sophia Kim, Vivian Shen – Evergreen; Ashley Ann Hanes – Walnut El; Angelina Kim, Joanna Tien, Kenneth Kwon, Denise Kim, Meghan Shen – Quail Summit; Pei Tao – Collegewood; Molly Wu – Westhoff; Victoria Stolz – Castle Rock; Naveen Dhillon – Vejar.
