Walnut Valley FLAP Students Perform at Chinese Culture Night

Walnut, CA— Students from Walnut Valley Unified School District performed during the Chinese Culture Night FLAP (Foreign Language Assistance Program) held at the Sophia B. Clarke Theater at Mt. San Antonio College on February 26.

The innovative program in several Walnut Valley Schools is funded through a Federal FLAP grant.

The Chinese Culture Night showcased about 20 dance, song, and instrumental performances and also featured students from the Confucius Chinese Language School. 

The annual program was presented by the Walnut Valley Unified School District FLAP program and Confucius Chinese Language School with the sponsorship of the Overseas Chinese Culture and Education Foundation and HSBC.

2011 Happy Rabbit Chinese New Year!  C.J. Morris Elementary students utilized traditional Chinese instruments to perform a Chinese New Year rap.

FLAP students from our three middle schools – Chaparral, South Pointe, and Suzanne performed “Jasmine Flower” a popular Chinese folk song. 

FLAP students from Castle Rock and Maple Hill Elementary School presented “Workout four Our Health”, a high-energy song about exercise.
