South Pointe Students Named to Honor Band
DIAMOND BAR, CA--Congratulations to South Pointe Middle School 7th and 8th grade students who have been chosen to participate in the 2011 All State Honor Band.
This year, 22 students were selected after a rigorous audition process that included over 1500 applicants from schools throughout the state.
Seven students had the additional distinction of being named first chair in the band for their instruments.
Following two days of rehearsals, students will present concerts on February 19 and 20 in Fresno. Congratulations to director Susan Willmering and these talented students on this exciting accomplishment!
Students named to the elite group are: Aerik Bertulfo, Jessica Chu, Sophia Deng, Samuel Doong, Kevin Gao, Melody Guo, Brian Jan, Jasmine Jan, Jasmine Koo, O’Conner Langi, Phillip Lee, Joanne Lin, Brian Lucero, Bridget Pei, Derek Peng, Kahayla Rapolla, April Song, Dianne-Marie Tapit, Leila Tou, Joey Wang, Nicole Yamashiro, and Brain Yu.
