Diamond Bar Students to Participate in Boeing Internship Program

Working together to inspire future STEM (Science, technology, engineering and mathematics) leaders.

DIAMOND BAR, CA— The Diamond Bar High School Brahma Technical Program (Brahma Tech) has been selected to participate in Boeing's Engineering High
School Internship Program at Huntington Beach-Anaheim sites.

Brahma Tech, is a specialized math, science, and technology-based, program.

“I am very pleased that the efforts of our Brahma Tech Coordinator, Alina Gallardo and Clark Rucker (parent and Boeing employee), have paid off,” said Principal Catherine Real.  “This internship is perfectly aligned with my vision for the school to provide an increasing number of school-to-work opportunities for our students.”

Diamond Bar High applied to participate in the eight-week unpaid summer internship program that will include about 25-28 students from five high schools, according to Instructional Dean David Hong. “We will have about 5 or 6 students take part,” he said.

The program’s goal is to provide the students learning opportunities for technical skill-building, networking, and presentation skills through special projects, training, and hands-on experiences with their assigned mentor.

Boeing mentors will also provide students with both rewarding and challenging assignments, and overall, positive learning experiences.  At the same time, students will be exposed to various Boeing products and help them gain a greater understanding of various engineering, math, and science applications.
