Transitions: Same Faces, Different Places

WALNUT, CA—Four familiar Walnut Valley USD faces have been approved by the Board of Trustees in the following administrative positions.

With over two decades of educational and administrative experience, Collegewood Elementary Principal Dr. Mary Wendland will join the District Office staff on a one-year temporary basis to provide oversight of the TK-8 districtwide Virtual Learning/Independent Study Program. Her co-title will be Principal/Interim Director of Expanded Learning Opportunities.

Maple Hill Elementary Principal Kelly Morris, a 22-year education veteran, will transition as the new principal at Cyrus J. Morris Elementary. She succeeds Fayroze Mostafa who accepted a position as director of curriculum and instruction in the Charter Oak Unified School District this summer.

Kim McNeil has been named interim principal at Maple Hill Elementary School. With 17 years of educational experience, she has served as the school’s elementary learning specialist for the past five years.  Prior to that, she was a teacher for 12 years.

South Pointe Middle School Assistant Principal Jeanette Schaller has been named Interim Principal at Collegewood Elementary to co-lead the school with Dr. Wendland this year. She brings nearly 15 years of educational experience to her new post. Retired Corona-Norco USD administrator Norma Berrellez has been tapped as interim assistant principal at South Pointe Middle School for the year.
