National Honors! Suzanne and Chaparral Middle Schools were lauded with 2020-2021 National Schools to Watch re-designation awards during a long-awaited virtual ceremony co-hosted by the National Forum to Accelerate Middle Grades Reform and California League of Schools.
Twenty-nine California middle schools were recognized during in-person awards on March 6, 2020 - just one week before COVID-19 closures - but the national awards ceremony slated that summer in Washington, D.C. was cancelled.
The prestigious Schools to Watch award recognizes high performing schools and promotes replicable practices for middle schools across the country.
Suzanne and Chaparral previously earned the honor in 2017 and the designation can be earned every three years.
Walnut Valley USD is a proud National Schools to Watch District!
