Thanks to over 2,200 parents, students, teachers, employees, and community members for supporting Walnut Valley Unified’s first 5K RunWalk and 1K FunRun on Sunday, May 2nd. It was gratifying to have so many people celebrate the 40th birthday of our district. Amazingly, almost half registered from the Friday before the race to minutes before the event began. Thank you for your patience as we attempted to assist everyone.
Regarding medals: Since this was our first 5K, the Committee thought that ordering 1500 medals would be more than enough. We know there are people who did not get medals. Our students who registered and participated in either the 5K RunWalk or 1K FunRun should definitely receive medals. Therefore, please email [email protected] if your child participated and did not receive a medal. Include your child’s name, bib number (if possible), and school site.
A steering committee (including parents and employees) will soon be deciding how event proceeds will be distributed. There is still time to donate money to our 40th Birthday Celebration! An additional letter will be found on this website very soon.
