WALNUT, CA—The Walnut Valley USD Board of Trustees recently approved the following administrative appointments: Dr. Jeanette Koh, Administrative Director of Educational Services, Dr. Seth Bond, Director of Human Resources, and Elizabeth Chang, Assistant Principal, Diamond Bar High School.

With over 28 years in education, Dr. Jeanette Koh was re-designated as administrative director of Educational Services during the September 16 meeting. She has served as director of Educational Services for the past three years. Prior to that, Dr. Koh was principal at Quail Summit Elementary, assistant principal at Suzanne Middle School, Title 1 coordinator at Vejar Elementary, and teacher at Maple Hill Elementary. Additionally, she has been instrumental in leading certified Project GLAD (Guided Language Acquisition Design) training across the K-12 District. She earned the profession’s highest mark of achievement as a National Board Certified Teacher and has developed curriculum for the Orange County Department of Education.

“My heart is filled with gratitude for serving WVUSD in different capacities and loving every minute of it,” she said.

“I look forward to supporting all students, staff, and families to continue ensuring all students are thriving in a “Kids First” learning environment that is supportive, safe, and exceptional.” 

Dr. Koh earned a bachelor’s degree in English from University of California Los Angeles, master’s degree in Education from Claremont Graduate University and doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership from University of La Verne.

Dr. Seth Bond has been appointed as director in the Human Resources Department.

He brings 23 years of educational experience to his new post, most recently serving as principal at Santiago High School in the Corona Norco USD for the past four years.

Prior to that, he was an assistant principal, student advisor, and teacher in CNUSD.

“I am excited to start my journey and service in Walnut Valley,” Dr. Bond said.

“I am honored to work alongside the Walnut Valley leadership teams and bring a perspective that fosters growth and continued positive relationships.”

Dr. Bond earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at Eastern Illinois University, master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Chapman University, and doctoral degree in Educational Leadership at Azusa Pacific University.

He succeeds Dr. Danny Kim who was named assistant superintendent of Educational Services in Charter Oak USD.

Elizabeth Chang is a familiar face in Walnut Valley returning as the new assistant principal at Diamond Bar High School.

Chang was an educational specialist in the District for 15 years and is a Diamond Bar High School alumna.

Additionally, she served the last two years as assistant principal in the Chino Valley USD.

"I'm so excited to circle back home to serve and grow with the vision of Walnut Valley,” Chang said.

“The traditions, culture, and rigor of the purple pride and gold standards of Diamond Bar High School holds true to my heart. I look forward to working closely with the Brahma teachers, staff, and families to meet our students' needs."

Chang received a bachelor’s degree in Human Development from University of California, San Diego, Master’s degree in Special Education, Career & Transition from California State University, Los Angeles, and is a 2021 Doctoral Candidate at California State University, Fullerton.

She succeeds Matthew Brummett who was named principal at Glendora High School.
