Walnut Valley Celebrates 2020 Retirees

This afternoon would have been our annual Retirement Recognition Ceremony. Due to the COVID-19 stay-at-home orders, we planned some “non-traditional” ways to honor our wonderful 2020 retirees. Over the weekend, Board Members, Superintendent, and Cabinet delivered gift baskets to all 39 staff members. This video includes a message from Superintendent Dr. Taylor and personalized tributes narrated by Human Resources Assistant Superintendent Diane Perez and Administrative Director Dr. Danny Kim. These remarkable employees have provided invaluable service to Walnut Valley students, staff, and school community.

Thank you for your dedicated service – we will miss you!

WALNUT, CA--Walnut Valley Unified School District paid tribute to the 2020 retirees during a virtual celebration held on May 20.

A total of 39 employees including administrators, teachers, and classified personnel were recognized with personal tributes for outstanding dedication to students.

"Thank you for your many years of service to our Walnut Valley students,” said Superintendent Dr. Robert Taylor in his congratulatory message.

“None of us ever anticipated that we would be recognizing you today in this virtual environment or that your career would culminate on a computer, rather than in your classroom, office, or school grounds surrounded by colleagues and kids.”

“I want you to know that you’ll be dearly missed!”

Board of Trustees, Superintendent Taylor, and administrators delivered baskets with retirement gifts, certificates of recognition, and heartfelt well wishes to their homes on Saturday.
