WALNUT, CA--The Walnut Valley Unified School District proudly announces the following administrative appointments approved by the Board of Trustees.
Matthew Spinogatti has been named assistant principal at Suzanne Middle School. He served as interim assistant principal at the school since August. Prior to that, he was an English teacher and department chair at South Pointe Middle School for seven years. Spinogatti worked closely with staff to cultivate a highly effective learning environment for all students. He has conducted numerous professional development and leadership workshops, mentored new teachers, coordinated the District’s Title I Summer School Program, and coached basketball, football, and track and field. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in English and Comparative Literature from California State University, Fullerton and master’s degree in education from University of Phoenix.
“I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to work with the Suzanne Middle School team. Walnut Valley is a special place and I am thankful to be a part of it,” he said.
Longtime WVUSD carpenter Jacques “Jack” Corcuera was promoted to manager of Maintenance, Operations, Facilities, and Transportation. Corcuera brings over 20 years of experience in all phases of maintenance carpentry to his new post. Corcuera earned the reputation of being an effective problem solver, with the ability to take technical complex projects from inception to completion, often within tight time constraints. He streamlined procedures to improve safety levels, productivity, and cost control through expertise in team building and leadership, troubleshooting, blueprint analysis, budgeting, strategic planning, and more. He attended the DeVry Institute of Technology and is a Walnut High School alumnus.
"I'm proud to work in Walnut Valley in this new and exciting opportunity. I am thankful to be in a team with fun, focused, and passionate people,” he said.
