WVUSD Presents Parent Symposium Featuring Dr. Michele Borba
The Walnut Valley Unified School District will present its first-annual Parent Symposium at Diamond Bar High School on Saturday, September 23, 2017, from 8 a.m. to noon. Registration is required and information is available on the District’s website at www.wvusd.k12.ca.us. Childcare will be provided for children in grades TK through 5.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear keynote speaker Dr. Michele Borba, a globally recognized educational psychologist who is an expert in parenting, bullying, and character development. Her aim is to strengthen children’s empathy and resilience. She has delivered keynotes and workshops to over 1,000,000 participants and authored 24 books translated into 14 languages!
The Parent Symposium will provide important resources and strategies for parents, guardians, and grandparents. Specific areas to be discussed are academic success, social & emotional needs, cultural diversity, newcomers to the country, and behavior strategies. Additionally, two breakout sessions will be presented by WVUSD staff members following the morning keynote address.
The Parent Symposium is sure to be a great event with teachers, specialists, and parents coming together to meet the needs of all students. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity!
