Southern California’s Top Gourmet Trucks Will Converge at Walnut High School in a fundraiser for Walnut Valley Educational Foundation
The gourmet food trucks confirmed for the WHEEL FOOD FEST to benefit the Walnut Valley Educational Foundation this Saturday, March 3, 2012, are southern California’s most requested and favorite, all participating in the fundraising event that will feature student performances and family entertainment. Renowned gourmet food trucks will gather at this second WHEEL FOOD FEST to benefit the Walnut Valley Schools, as they continue to battle the cuts in education, from 11a.m. to 4p.m at Walnut High School, 400 North Pierre Road in Walnut.
The list of confirmed trucks are a foodie fan’s dream including: Food Network favorite’s The Lime Truck, Grill ‘Em All, and Don Chow’s Taco Truck; celebrity and press leaders Jogasaki Sushi Burrito Truck, the Buttermilk Truck, and the Grilled Cheese Truck; local favorite, Slummin’ Gourmet; desserts from OC’s Morsel’s Bakery Truck, and Del’s Lemonade, the Slice Truck and Fresh Fries LA, all of whom will donate a portion of sales from the event.
“Saturday’s WHEEL FOOD Fest will include all the top trucks in the area,” said Angela Turner, whose company, Launch Lady Marketing, organizes food truck fund-raisers. “Foodies or people who want to check out the popular trucks without the hassle of larger events, this WHEEL FEST will be a great family and community event. The November event brought a great turn-out and we’ve doubled the number of trucks for this Saturday!”
The WHEEL FOOD FEST will also feature student showcases and family entertainment throughout the day. The event will also serve as registration pick-up for participants of the 3rd Annual WVUSD 5K/1K Fun Run taking place on Sunday, March 4th at Diamond Bar High School beginning at 8 a.m. Late registration will also be available on Saturday during the Wheel Food Fest for the 5K/1K fun run.
“This will be an exciting weekend,” said Cindy Ruiz, WVUSD Board Member and Ed Foundation board of director. “With Saturday’s WHEEL FOOD FEST, the student performances, and 5K registration check-in and then Sunday’s Annual WVUSD 5K, we’re looking forward to a weekend of family fun and fund-raising, while providing an opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate our students and schools.”
The admission donation for the WHEEL FOOD FEST on Saturday, March 3rd is $2.00 with children under 5 years old admitted free with their families. Additionally, participants of the 3rd Annual WVUSD 5K picking up registration will also be admitted free. No outside food, beverages, alcohol or pets are permitted.
